About

About the farm
In June 2017, we will build a horse stable and want woofers with some construction skills.

The farm consists of 14 ha arable land. We also have 9 ha forest (mainly pine in different ages) and 5 ha of natural, flower-rich pasture. Ancient remanis, especially from the Iron age, are abundant.
The animal stock consists of 40 female sheep of the endangered breed "Gutefår" and the more common "Gotlandsfår", two horses and two cats. We also work with landscape management. Our speciality is to maintain an old-fashioned landscape with help from the animals.

We want you to stay here during ca. 3 weeks. You will stay in a room in our house.

Work to do
Firewood handling during the winter. When the snow melts off, there will be fencing.

In April, the lambing takes place. Lambing is the most exciting time in the year. It is fantastic to see all the births and newborn lambs, but there is also a risk that you will experience failed lambings and deaths.Your main task will be waking up in the middle of the night to supervise the sheep. In the daytime, there is also time for other work such as gardening, fencing and firewood chopping.

In late spring/early summer, we want help with stacking the firewood indoors, weeding the garden and bushwhacking in the forest.

You need to understand instructions given in English.

We don't host wwoofers in July.

About us
We are two adults (Martin born 1973 and Anso born -74) and two children (Torunn born 2004 and Alma born 2006). We are skilled in Biology, Archaeology and Agricultural history and would like to do some birdwatching with you. We speak pretty good English and a very little German and French. We are very interested in the Swedish language, so if you want to practice your Swedish, this is the right place.
We eat much and often, preferably non-vegetarian food and are keen on trying your food, so we'll love if you cook for us.

Note
Our sheep are free from diseases as Maedi-visna and foot-rot. If you have been in contact with other sheep or goats, you must wash your clothes and shoes before visiting us!
