Welcome to Urnatur

Urnatur works with ecotourism and our eco lodge is called wood hermitage. We also work with nature design, nature preservation and food/ products with wild herbs.
Urnatur is a family company. We want to work with a lifestyle concept. The center of the concept is our farm "Sjögetorp" and what nature can give. Our family consists of Ulrika Krynitz (designer 42), Håkan Strotz (forester 45) and our girls Siri (15) and Tula (14).

The farm Sjögetorp is located close to lake Visjö. The lake is wonderful for taking a bath, fishing, taking a tour with the canoe. The nature is ancient and varying with forest, fields and a high biodiversity. Our wood hermitage is open from April to October and during this period we also welcome helping hands. Ulrika has been working on different farms in Ireland herself in 1988.

During the green season we mainly work with eco tourism in the wood hermitage. Our guests live in timbered huts and treehouses (all built by Håkan) without electricity in the woods. They have to chop their own firewood, make fire in the stove and the only light is candlelight and lanterns. We serve food mainly based from the farm- lambs meat, fish from the lake, wild herbs, berries, mushroms, vegetable from the garden.

Kind of work:
Could be anything that has to be done on the farm or in the wood hermitage. Like weeding garden, gathering wild herbs, cutting lawn, carpentry work and painting (we most often have new projects, right now it is another treehouse or a kitchen/bathroom for stuff and wwoofers or a swimming sauna), helping with fencing, cleaning the sheep or hens house, daily care of animals, kitchen work, also helping out with events in the wood hermitage...
The help we need depends of course of season in the year. There will always be soft days and hectic periods. If you are pleased of cooking (mainly for our family) we get very happy :)
If you have own ideas about gardening or something else we are open for new ideas and experimenting! There are opportunities to try different crafts or your own (arts?) projects if you want to.

Languages: Swedish, English, German.

Food: Meat from the farm and vegetables, mainly organic. Vegetarian food can be made. We all eat together.

Allergies:
Ulrika is very allergic to cats and some other things. Therefore we do not have any animals in any of the houses. So if you are allergic, too, it is no problem - just stay away from the cats!

Accommodation: In our wagon in the vegetable garden (1p) or at the loft (2p). Shower and food in our house. We can take max. two wwoofers at the time.

Work: ca 6 hours/day, 5 days/week = 1 week accommodation and food.

Insurance: Our insurance covers accidents only during work. For the rest of the time, bring your own travel insurance.

Location: Urnatur is in the middle of South Sweden, close to Ödeshög. You can get here easily by buss with Swebus express to "Östgötaporten". We can pick you up from there.
