Small-scale organic farming, ecotourism businesses, non-profit nature conservation, practical work - a diversity of tasks in an oasis in the middle of the woods, near the beautiful Heart Lake.
Life is simple. Water is collected in a well and the food cooked over a wood stove. The little electricity we need, we get from a small solar panel. We try to live as sustainable as possible, grow and buy organic.
We run a small eco-tourism business called Åfallet Nature Village: www.naturby.se.
We want to help to raise awareness of the value of nature and its diversity of opportunities. We focus on sustainable living, multiple use, ecology, conservation, and combine this with exciting cultural events and recreation.
We also work a lot with nonprofit nature conservation, for example, with local projects like building nature trails and for the protection of valuable natural forests.
WWOOFers are working around 6 hours outside with many different projects. We cook and eat together. You will sleep together with other WWOOFers in the house our in a tentipi such as you want. In the evenings we play music, discuss politics and talk lots about forest and nature issues.
