Welcome to Bergsnäs

We are a small family with big visions in the south of Småland. Here we live and work close to the beautiful nature that surrounds us. Our family consists of two adults and one child (born 2009). On the farm lives also 10 chickens, one dog, 4 goats, 1 horse, 4 ducks and 2 cats. We live in a most simple way with only cold water and no shower. We will take occasional trips to the lake for bathing and relaxing. We live our lives for the day and things may change drasticly from one day to another, we are not very solid in our opinions but change ways as we get higher insights.

In our daily lives, we practice a lifestyle that could be compared with the taechings of Buddha or Jesus. That means we work hard to become better and more loving beings. We are always thankful for what we have and we try never to take things for granted. We eat most raw vegetables, sour bread, kruska, cheese and milk.

Our aim is to build a self sufficient farm, and at the same time to be a part of society and change it by changing our closest surroundings and ourselves. To interact, and cooperate with the surrounding neighbours is an important part of building the community that we would like to see.

The projects on our farm will be many. We try to plan well before doing, and do things well, at the same time we are not afraid of trying new solutions. Some of our plans includes creating a forest garden, building a conservatory/greenhouse, building a "smålandsgärdsgård" (old-style fence), growing alot of different pumpkins, compost building, fixing the barn and sheds (carpentry), growing alot of different vegetables and herbs, renovate building that we are going to use as a storage for seeds and a small shop, renovate the inside of the barn.

We welcome 1-2 wwoofers at the time. You can stay a minimum of one week to get to know us, and longer if it works out well. You will learn to prepare the food we eat.
