Welcome to Tiskaretjärn

Tiskaretjärn is a small farm deep in the forests of Värmland with cows, sheep, chickens and cats. The farm is a vital part of the surrounding nature reserve with an interesting flora and cultural relics. We, Peter and Nora, live in the big house of Tiskaretjärn Farm, and you are more than welcome to join us.

Wwoofers will be helping out with looking after the animals (which means mainly to give them water in the summertime), working in the vegetable garden/greenhouse, and doing jobs such as making firewood, painting and a lot of traditional fencing. During June-August we will be taking in the hay for the winter, part of which will be cut with the scythe. There will also be lots of berry picking and jam making during July-September.

When you are here, we expect you to join our routines, share our meals and of course also work with us. Sometimes the work is more intense and at other times more calm. There is always something to do and no opportunities to get bored during the summer season. But there will also be time to take a swim in the small lake down the road, explore the forests, or sit outside and enjoy the long light and warm summer evenings, reading a book and eating strawberries.

Accomodation: We have big spare bedrooms in the house, which you might either have for yourself or will have to share with someone else, depending on how many people we will be during the summer. Or, if you prefer, you can put up a tent outside under the stars or make yourself a bed in the hay barn and be woken up by the rooster singing his morning tune.
