Our little farm lays in the middle of North-Jämtlands` wilderness, close to the Fjäll, but 30 km from the next small shop and bus station and 100 km from the “city” Strömsund.
Svansele counts 4 houses, of which two are only used for holidays / hunting.
There's not many people living around here. But this area is well populated with bears, wolverine, moose, reindeer and foxes.
We moved here in 2008, so we are still busy with creating the place and sometimes things go still rather chaotic. In future we want to live more or less self-sufficient. We have already milking goats and started to produce our own cheese and other milk products.
In 2010 we plan some more building projects like a veranda and a horse stable, we want to paint our house, create a nice garden, finish the hay shed and of course there will be lots of wood chopping, haying, berry- and mushroom-picking.
In our spare time we love to be out hiking and swimming, making music and handicraft.
We’d be happy to host some open and nature-loving wwoofers from all over the world.
To earn our money and the food for our animals we both work as freelancers (webdesign, writing and photography), so it would be good, if you like to work independently now and then and can enjoy yourself sometimes.
