We are a family with three children, all boys, aged 15 to 20. We run a small organic farm in the middle of Sweden, about 150 km from Stockholm. We have 9 meat cows and a bull, 80 sheep and 120 lambs, 3 rams, two cats, a dog and a greenhouse heated with bio-energy of 380 m2 where we grow tomatoes and 30 m of cucumber. We have a small farm shop where we sell our produce and other things we like from our neighbourhood. We think that is wise to think globally but eat locally.
The work at the farm is a full time job for Katarina, mother in the family. Magnus, the father, and all boys are doing their fair share at the weekends. Magnus has an office job in the city of Norrköping, 65 km from the farm and drives to work in the mornings, so transport to a city can be arranged easily. The closest town is Katrineholm, at 20 km, and buses go regularly there (3 km to the bus stop).
We invite you to lend bikes and get to know the neighbourhood, or take our canoe and spend a day and night visiting the beautiful creek around the corner.
Please observe that we can not welcome smokers to our farm since the tomato plants are very sensitive to tobacco.
