Me and my husband live in a small town called Malmköping and I am a fulltime beekeeper. We live right outside the town in a mediumsize house. We have bees of course and some chickens. We have lots of berrybushes and rasberries, in july- august we also head to the forrest to pick wild berries and muchrooms for products in my company.
The main product is honey, I have about ninety hives but Im constantly expanding. I started my honeycompany a few years back and I sell mostly natural honey, some beepollen and honey with different flavors, mostly at the local farmersmarket but even to a few stores.
The work here is mainly about the bees. Duties will vary from working with the bees, to extracting honey, caring for old and making new material for the hives. Some gardening, pulling weeds, picking berries and other normal day to day activities wich also inkludes household chores.
If you come here in the fall, sept.-october the apples are ripe and we will be picking apples and making applejuice/cider. I do most of the cooking but help in the kitchen is always welcome.
You do not have to have previus experience with bees to come here, you learn here. We always wear protectiv clothes while working with the bees, but you may get stung, so its best if your not allergic to beestings.
We live a few minutes outside Malmkoping but it is not far from the bus or train, if you should like to take a trip to Stockholm it is easy to get to.
