Our little farm is our heaven and is beautifully located on the island of Orust in Bohuslän. We who live here are Sture and Ingegärd and our horses and cats. We run a part time small, ecological farm where we keep our horses for the purpose of breeding on a small but excellent scale, for keeping the fields open and for the pleasure of the company they give. We have a little eko vegetablegarden. Sometimes the 2 guesthouses are let out to tourists if not occupied by WWOFERS:-).
We also have a part-time healthpractice for healing the natural way located on the farm, that generates the much necessary extra funds to help keep the farm running !
It is a beautiful breathtaking place, quiet and relaxing and close to many of the coastlines exciting scenery. Björkelyckan is a very unique place, a source of inspiration and well-being where you can load your batteries and develop your practical and creative sides.
We would like You, dear wwoofer to help us in the reconstruction of this cultural landscape, help us keep up the veggiegarden and help us with the fences and caring of the horses and foals we have.
It is a great area with lots of trees and wildlife. You can go hiking, picking mushrooms and berries in the surrounding woods or go for a swim in the ocean (just some kilometres away) on Your free-time.
The farm has not been farmed for many years before we moved here.
This is a perfect chance to help us keep it growing, develope new ideas how to make us more selfsufficient with natural foods and make the countryside alive!
Life on the farm includes caring for the animals, fixing fences, keeping the veggiegarden, keeping the areas open from weeds, well as on most farms a blended mix of work but on a small scale. We would like help with these daily things with chopping wood, odd repairs around the farm, etc. We can host 2 Woofers during the spring and summer season. Accommodation in the guesthouse and we provide the food, but You do Your own cooking in Your kitchen .
Your work here will be rewarded by living in a wonderful environment with our family, close to nature and its wonders. As You will be a part of the family, we expect you to tidy up and keep your house clean:-)
