Välkommen till Bokeslund
We are a organic family farm with high degree of self-sufficiency. Sales of livestock, meat, skins and vegetables. The farm is at 20ha, and we also operate about 180ha off nature reserve that is grazed by Rögnaröd and Granemålacows. We also have a number of native breeds, Linderöpigs, Klövsjösheep, Göingegoats, Blue and Muscovy duck and several breeds of chicken. The goal is that we will produce all the animals feed on the farm, and wheat advice and vegetables to the family and our wwoofers. Most vegetables and legumes are the older type. We cultivate your own seed from many of them. The farm has about 250 varieties of apple trees and a garden on two acres and greenhouses of 190 square meters where we grow everything from tomatoes to peaches. We preserve and dry much of our harvest and to this we have several root cellar. Baking in your own oven at home with home ground flour. We have several water treatment ponds, and nature adapted ditches. Heating with pellets and wood. Gladly accept visitors throughout the year, as time permits.

We usually have 1-2 wwoofers at the time,no couples or individuals who know each other from before, all wwoofers have their room on the wwoof-farm where you will eat breakfast lunch and dinner .
The working day varies in the number of hours depending on the type of work and the weather, usually between 4-8 hours.
During the summer, living is scattered all over the farm, we have both the room inside the wwoof house, mobile homes and tents, the last two options are located next to two ponds and there is opportunity to swim.
Meals follow the seasons and what we produce on the farm.
We are all meat eaters but do not expect that you are.
Smoking and drinking are permitted in moderation, but of course not iligala drugs
REFERENCE
” I spent seven weeks working at Bokeslund between mid July and early September 2010. Instead of being a solitary farm, there are in fact three farm houses all located within a kilometre or so of one another. Between two of the houses there are three generations – grandparents Jean and Lena, new parents Johan and Linnea and their young children Lukas and Stella. The third farm (a.k.a. ‘WWOOF house’) is where I stayed with my fellow WWOOFers. Situated in a rural and picturesque part of Skåne, it is two km from the market town of Hörby and within easy day trip distance of both Malmö and Lund.
Among the many assets of choosing Bokeslund was the autonomy of staying in a separate farm house (including its own farm buildings) while also having all the support and expertise you could need only two minutes away. Every morning begins with feeding and checking the animals around the WWOOF house which include hens, pigs, goats and cows. Following this there is usually a number of maintenance or agricultural projects to get involved with. For example, we white washed the farm house, harvested grain, renovated and painted doors and windows, herded livestock and learned to use some of the farm equipment including the tractor (a personal favourite for both Lukas and I!). Other regular tasks included weeding and planting at the extensive vegetable patch or in the poly tunnel and preparing produce for sale at the market (including baking bread in a stone oven and spinning fresh honey). The beauty of the set up at Bokeslund is the diversity of experience it offers – rarely were two days the same.
Aside from the work itself, my summer in Sweden was made really special because of the people I lived with. As hosts Jean, Lena, Linnea and Johan could not have been more thoughtful, kind and hospitable. Most evening meals were eaten communally at Jean and Lena’s house, often dining outdoors on the sunny evenings. Not only was the majority of the food home grown but it was always delicious and varied – Jean refuses to let WWOOFers loose weight during their stay, you’ve been warned! The finer things in life are not restricted to the company and food alone; there is a hot tub and a sauna is on the way! If you’re someone interested in expanding your knowledge about nearly every aspect of organic farming then Johan is your man. He works part time as a horticultural/agricultural consultant and there is probably very little he doesn’t know or can’t find out. All of this combined with an interesting mix of between two and six WWOOFers over the course of the summer makes it a highly rewarding and memorable option.
