Bossgården is a small farm where we aim at self sufficiency and produce vegetables for the local market. On the farm we have restored the old pig house and the old stables into a café and pub where we arrange concerts and other events a few times every summer together with the village culture association.
So far we have hosted over 100 wwoofers and we enjoy it a lot. Four of our wwoofers settled down close by so we now have a small ex-wwoofers comunity here :)
We keep sheep, cattle and hens on the farm and the fieldes are used for hay and vegetable production. There is also a greenhouse on the farm. The vegetables are sold at the market in town once a week during harvest season.
A lot of the work on the farm is to maintain and restore the cultural heritage of the old buildings and the landscape. Traditional and cautious techniques are used for this work. We manage the meadows and pastures in a traditional way to maintain and restore a rich biodiversity.
We are in a large extent aiming at self-sufficiency and this reflects on the daily work. What we need help with is maintenance of the buildings, chopping wood, forestry, harvesting, gardenwork, householdwork and tending the animals.
We that run the farm are a small family of three: Jonas, Sanna and our son Alvin.
We host around 3 wwoofers at a time. The accomodation is in a guest house and in a huge caravan with access to bathroom and kitchen in the main house. We share the householdwork and have most meals together.
We welcome wwoofers for both a shorter time as well as for longer periods. We normaly ask for a two week trial period to see if we get along well before we definately decide about a longer stay.
