Kalbo mellangård is a small farm in a little village called Kalbo, the farm is a family farm, a family of four, Mårten, Therese our son Alvin and our daughter Disa. We have own the farm since june 2008 and our goal is to be as selfsufficient as possible but we have some obstacles to overcome and some work to do before we get there. It's a fun work to build up a small scale farm and we hope that you will enjoy it as much as we do!
What we need help with is maintenance of the buildings, chopping wood, forestry, harvesting, taking care of the vegetablegarden, building pens, and tending the animals and much more. There is something to do for everyone! :)
Its possible to ride the horses if thats of any interest :)
We can host 4 Wwoofers at a time between June to August . The accomodation is in a caravan outside the main house or in the guesthouse just outside the mainhouse.
Some weeks wwoofers can stay in a small house on our farm with an own tolilet and kitchen. But our goal is to have paying guests staying in that house during the summer.
When wwoofing at our farm you can decide by yourself a lot of things about the work that needs to be done and when to do it, you can do some exploring by yourself our with us like a part of the family, you can borrow our car (if you have a drivinglicense off course) and go to the cities nearby to see more of Sweden. We also have a small boat in a nearby lake so you can borrow it to go fishing. We also do trips our excursions on the summer wich the wwoofers are welcome to join us.
We like to make sure that the wwoofers are having a good time at the farm :)
