Some of our goals is to keep the local history alive and to live as self sustaining as possible. We have a large garden with 15 apple trees , berries, and we are slowly working to recreate the garden as it could have looked when the house was new. Hens and rabbits are also planned for 2012 season. There is a lot of work ahead, and this will be an opportunity to be in from the start.
I have been struggling with health problems and my father is retired but I try to focus on what I can, and not what I can’t do. With help from wwoofers, roommates and others I believe that I can make this a farm to be proud of. I like to cook and to share recepies from all over the world. Homemade is the leading word here on the farm, and when possible we try to get the food from local producers. We eat all sorts of food and if our guests are vegetarians it will just mean more new recepies in the kitchen! We will all be living in the same house. One of the beds share room with the home office (a wall of bookshelves between) and the other room is really small but private. We will be sharing kitchen, bathroom and living room. There is a computer you are free to use as well as a wireless network if you bring your own computer. Smoking is allowed outside and alcohol on occasion. I am a member of a local viking reenactment group as well as a medieval group so I do some volunteer work for them.
