Add this great festival to your WWOOF tour! Urkult is a world music festival which takes place the first week in August.
We have volunteers who help us during the festival, but beyond that we need help with building and dismantling the festival the week before and after. We can offer space for approx: 10 WWOOFers willing to work with us to create a really good festival.
Work is to say the least variable. We need help in the kitchen and cafe to handle catering for all incorporated, repair of the festival site, raising tents, sign painting, etc. and of course the dismantling of all this and clearing up as to leave “no trace” after the festival.
Of course there will be time to enjoy the festival. We have a drug-free policy at Urkult and anyone involved in the festival must adhere to this.

Urkult works on three basic principles: the local, the international and environmental perspectives.
The local perspective
The foundation is of course the local involvement, where implementation is based on voluntary help and actions. All materials and ingredients for serving are where possible purchased locally from organic farmers.
The international dimension
The festival has obvious roots in the international perspective. A meeting between different cultures gives us opportunities for amazing experiences, and helps to create understanding across cultural boundaries. Cultures and people unite. The music created and developed today often has ingredients from a variety of genres. The traditional mixed with modern, African with Swedish and so on.
An environmental perspective
Last but not least, we have taken upon ourselves to make the festival as environmentally friendly as possible. Most of the waste is composted on site or recycled in the best way. All cutlery, plates and cups used are compostable. The permanent toilets supplemented with urine separation. We use environmentally friendly materials where possible. We also work on keeping the volume at a comfortable level.
